PayPerPost

Thomas emailed me today with a new blog venture. It's called PayPerPost and basically you can get paid to blog! The service, in a nutshell, brings advertisers and bloggers together. Advertisers post products or services, bloggers can choose which items fit their blog audience and what they'd like to write about that day. There are lots of different variables that must be met before a post will be approved. Some advertisers require a certain number of words in the post or the put a time limit on the ad. After you've posted and they've checked it out, you get paid!

I recommend checking it out, it's a pretty cool set up and easy to use. They seem to have good products to write about too, things like digital cameras and cookware. The only thing I don't like that I've seen so far is that not all advertisers will accept posts from BlogSpot users.

I hope to make a little extra money off of PayPerPost. I am always skeptical of new ideas and I don't want to get my hopes up. They have lots of positive reviews from longtime users that say how much money they've made, but if I can make enough money to buy a new pair of shoes or take my husband out for sushi then it's well worth my efforts. I suppose that's all I want in life...

Even Design

You know how you see neat stuff throughout the year and think, "Oh, that would be a great Christmas gift for me!" Well that is what I think when I go to the Even Design website.

Judi Patson makes not-so-traditional sterling silver jewelry. From necklaces with little Lego pieces to refillable rings with glow sticks inside, her jewelry is out of the ordinary.

My favorite is this ruler ring:

I love these bubble level cufflinks, a great gift for the well dressed man in your life:

I like this ring because it reminds me of a bowl Thomas has for various bits and pieces from around the garage:

As with any well made, unique item, it comes at a price. All items shown start at $176.

Bloggy hiatus

I seem to have taken an unintentional vacation from blogging and all things internet related. I've still be toting my camera around with me so at least the last few days have not gone by undocumented!

All the baking I did was so much fun. Here is the chocolate mousse, apple pie and pumpkin pie. The chocolate mousse was the best I've ever made!

Thanksgiving baking

My apple pie experiment went perfectly. I hadn't made an apple pie before Thursday, and I was very pleased with the result!

We had a great time at my cousin's home for Thanksgiving dinner, although we had a little accident in the driveway!

Then on Friday we just did projects around the house. I washed the dogs and took pictures in the yard.

Saturday was completely lazy. I stayed in bed for a while and Lola came to join me. Thomas threw the covers over her and she stayed all cuddled up for a long nap.

All in all it was a much-needed, quiet, restful weekend. The morning will bring a busy week of freelance jobs.

Choco-holic

I am excited to get started with my baking today! Maybe I shouldn't say baking, because both items I plan to make today are no-bake. I will be making the chocolate mousse I talked about here, and Russian cream. I can't start to early in the day because I have some work to do this morning and that really needs to be out of the way before I commence the mess making I call baking. Because the first step to cleaning up, as we all know, is licking every bowl, utensil and surface clean of chocolate mousse until the sugar rush is so intense you couldn't possibly engage your brain to do work at a computer because you're so cracked out you can't even sit down! Hooray!

A creature of habit

Do you ever stop and notice something occurring in your everyday life? We drink about five hot drinks a day in this house. After making tea this morning, I set the spoon on the counter, just as I had set one down the night before, and the beverage before that. Yikes!

Spoon (dis)order

Is there a bit of something obsessive compulsive hiding in the back of my brain or am I just a creature of habit? I vote for the latter.

Does anybody else do stuff like this?
