They're almost ripe

On the adventure quest that happens when Henry and Lola go outside for the first time in the morning, there was a lot of scuffling around. Henry darted in one direction, Lola dashed to his side. I thought it a good time to grab my coffee and my camera and see what all the fuss was about.

Picking persimmons

My dogs love persimmons! I think they must check the tree everyday, and today the persimmons smelled ripe. They remind me of deer in the wild gingerly selecting their next meal from a nearby tree branch.

Lola got her prize and was off and running, always playing keep-away from Henry.

Once Henry settled in the shade, Lola was safe to enjoy her snack. She only took about one bite before she completely gave up. Lola's nose had convinced her they were ripe, her discerning taste buds let her know otherwise. So she delivered her disappointing morning snack inside to Thomas' feet.

Another wonderful night

Loveboat Sushi in Oceanside, makes the best sushi I've had on the west coast. Tonight we had wonderful service and fabulous food (as usual). Toro and gold-leafed blue fin tuna to start.

Everything was fantastic. Yellowtail, jumbo live scallop, Spanish mackerel, salmon, all lubricated with sake and Sapporo.

I even got a rose from Kenny.

But the highlight of the evening, of course, was our favorite sushi chef Jerry.

Caffeine delivery? I think not.

A few weeks ago my friend emailed me and asked if I still use Instant Messenger. I hadn't really thought about that program after leaving college five years ago. I looked around on my Mac and found iChat. After a couple of screen name and password attempts I found the right combination, my buddy list appeared and I was up and chatting! So thrilled with my discovery, I instant messaged my husband who was on my buddy list and also sitting 10 feet away at the time.

H: I love you!

A terse reply comes across.

T: I only use this for work.

Whatever! I was so annoyed! I would have left him alone if the reply had been a bit nicer, but instead I nattered on in his ear all day about the incident. When I say all day, I mean all day. Who doesn't send back a simple, "I love you, too" or "I love you, but I like to keep IM for work"? Eventually, Thomas understood the error of his ways. (If you believe that I have a bridge I can sell you.) And I agreed not to message him.

This morning I woke up early and was enjoying some coffee and chatting to my friend online. On the screen pops up a new message.

T: Where's my coffee, biatch?

H: I can't hear you, I only use this for work.

Then like some sort of away message, I receive this:

T: Messages from this sender are not accepted until after caffeine delivery has been completed.

Update: WWHD

Since my last post, I have had a number of inquiries about what camera I own.

It's the Casio EX-Z1050. Small and lightweight, it packs a punch. It has a huge screen and lots of options, and is reasonably priced.

WWHD

My sister Nancy most definitely has an eye for design. We both love the same sort of clean, white, stylized design but our execution has always been in different media. She has worked in the textile and retail industry for years, I have been on the 2D graphic design side. We know what we like but struggle at the other's specialty. Whenever Nancy would visit my NobleKnits yarn shop in Oceanside she would completely rearrange the store, the displays, merchandise and even furniture. I did an OK job, but she could always make the shop look top notch.

Now the tables are turned. I've been posting so many photographs over the last few months that she is getting envious! She went out and bought a camera like mine, I give her lessons over the phone and now she takes her time and considers the composition of her photos. Her new mantra? What would Heather do?

Nancy was as excited about the MiniCards from Moo.com as I was. She pulled her favorite yarns, took her photos and look at her reward:

Beautiful!

I wish the whole world lived by WWHD. One day they will.
